Spring Fever

Spring FeverSpring FeverRising to my web master's, Wes's encouragement, I try my hand at blogging once again. Actually, it is my second writing today as apparently the first blog was lost. Such is the learning curve for a non-techy such as myself. No fear, I am told that practice makes perfect.

I have had a severe dose of spring fever. Planting, pruning, weeding and mowing are infecting me and I have been engrossed in the dress up of Bluegrass Knoll. Somehow, I came up with the bright idea to add a rock retaining wall around one of the beds. So, Nelly (our 1983 rusted and almost antique Ford pick up truck) and I take off for the netherlands of the Ottawa Valley to seek rocks. And rocks I found. The only limitation to my find of rocks was myself. Sweltering in the 30 degree weather dressed in jeans and work boots, I methodically load the heavy stones. Gratitude overcomes me that I have been working out by lifting babies in The Baby Feast.

With Nelly loaded to capacity, I head back to Bluegrass Knoll. Life doesn't get better for me than touring with my truck with arm hanging out the window listening to country music and thinking no one should be allowed to have so much fun. Then I remembered that the rocks will need to be unloaded.

I set a goal for myself. Once the hard labor was done, I would head for a dip in the Madawaska River one mile from the property. Oh, the sizzle of my body as I hit the amazing and DRINKABLE water of the mighty Madawaska. My fever is tempered for the moment but having lived on this planet for as long as I have, I know that 'this too shall pass'. I know that once the lazy, hazy days of summer hit the spring fever will subside and I'll get into relax mode.

Until then
