Fall

Living in Canada makes for a fall work load that my siblings in Kentucky aren't familiar with. Closing the cottage means turning off and draining the water, covering the windows, protecting the beach from the inevitable wash out with the ice, and tightening up the building so that little critters don't move in. Even Bluegrass Knoll has its chores: putting furniture away, closing the crawl space, turning the water off to the outside and caulking any leaks that will allow 'ole man winter' to come in.

However, the fall gives me the energy to tackle these extra chores and keep up with the business of fall portrait shoots. There is something about crispness of the air that is energizing and stimulating and there is magic in the beauty of the fall's reds, yellows and golds. I am not alone in that I am in awe of this time of year and seek to be outside. Many a family wants their portraits in the leaves and the soft light of fall and it is fun for me to create a lasting memory.

I am so in love with fall (and all the seasons) that once again, my sweetie and I have been under renovations. Why couldn't we put in a windowed wall in our living room so that the outdoors can be brought indoors? So, we have done just that, adding to our work load. Although we are not quite back to order, we are reaping the benefits of viewing the deer, wild turkeys and the stunning fall colors. Ah, well worth the effort. I will soon have time to tackle subjects of interest in my blog.

Until then
