This marks ten years that I have been shooting babies. This isn’t gruesome shooting damaging the little bundles but it is joyful shooting commemorating them through fine portraiture. Unbelievably, I have shot over 300 babies during the ten years that Garlough Photo has been hosting The Baby Feast and raising funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Society. The babies seem to pour out of the woodwork every spring when the studio runs the competition for the babies with the nicest smile, the chubbiest cheeks, and the brightest eyes. These categories are not to be outdone by the most angelic, the most mischievous, and the most delicious baby in all the land.

Growing Pains

You probably think that I have fallen off of the earth and in a sense; I have been on another planet. It is the planet of self-discovery, the land of my own shortcomings, incongruities, and inconsistencies. It is a scary place. Who wants to go there? I must be nuts or is it just a symptom of middle age, recognizing my own mortality and wanting to get the most out of life.
